Sh. Sat Pal Langer was known as a man of extra-ordinary, multifaceted Duggar personality of Jammu and Kashmir, who was always seen in a cheerful mood. He possessed and impressive personality that bore straight forwardness, ability to do and deliver and aptitude to sacrifice for the brethren (Biradari ). He was an Late Lala Sat Pal Ji Langer Angel for the orphans, widows, lepers and the like. He was selfless daunting servant of humanity, had foresightedness, an industrialist, a wise-man and a great social reformer. Whatever sacrifice and social work he has done, there doesn’t exist any such precedence in history. |
Lala Sat Pal Langer was born on 26.01.1940 at village Rehail of Tehsil R.S. Pura ( now Bishnah ) District Jammu in a simple but cultural family. His father was Lala Rahlu Ram Langer ( Rihial wale ) and his mother was Smt. Veero Devi. Sh. Sat Pal Langer Ji has two elder & one younger brothers Late Sh. Kasturi Lal, Sh. Chajju Ram, Kewal Langer and also two sisters namely Smt. Satya Devi & Smt. Dhano Devi. He got educated upto Primary standard at village Rehail and then passed his Matriculation from Bishnah in the year 1956. He served in Indian Post and Telegraphic office as Postman in Miran Sahib, R.S. Pura, Jammu. After two years he resigned from the post of Postmaster and started his business of Oil, Ghee, Atta with his father and brother. He started a small business of Oil, Ghee, Atta. He married in the year 1961 at Amritsar with Smt. Santosh Gupta. In the year 1988 he was elected as President of Langer Biradari. He manged marriages of so many poor girls and used to donate to S.O.S village. He got Rehris for the lepers from Amritsar for Kusht Ashram to make the lepers stands on their own feet and earn their own livelihood. He gave Potatoes and Onions to them to sell. He got installed the idols of Ganga Mata and Yamraj at shamshan Ghat, Jammu. He was founder member of Jammu Yatri Bhawan Haridwar and after that he was elected as first President of Jammu Yatri Bhawan Jammu / Haridwar in 1994. During his Presidentship palatial building was raised for the yatries with 150 rooms, 3 big Halls, five temples, one Gho-shalla, Yogashalla with lift facility, a big park, parking space for vehicles, cooling system ( fridges ) for providing cold drinking water, dining Hall, besides One Kanal of land was purchased during his time near Bus Stand Jammu for construction of 28 rooms including Head office of Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust with a plan for the transit stay of yatries from far away places visiting Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, Shri Amar Nath Ji and other religious places in J&K. “ Ham Laye Hain Toofan Se Kishti Nikal Ke Eis Bhawan Ko Rakhana Mera Mitro Sambhal Ke ” | |

Late Sh. Lachhman Dass Aggarwal Ex-Vice-President, Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust was elected as Trustee on 03.05.1995 and subsequently as Vice-President of the Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust. He died on 15.06.2012. |
