Foundation Stone
Sh. Tara Chand, Mir Lay foundation stone of Jammu Yatri Bhawan, Head Office, Jammu
On 26th July 2010, Honble Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Tara Chand and Minister for Agriculture, Sh. Ghulam Hassan Mir laid foundation stone of Jammu Yatri Bhawan at B.C. Road here on Monday.
The Yatri Bhawan, Head Office is being constructed shortly by Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, a local social & religious organization.
Addressing the participants at the foundation lying ceremony, Sh. Tara Chand said that on its completion the pilgrims visiting various shrines of Jammu will get better boarding facilities by the Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust.
Dy. Chief Minister further said that development of such facilities will further boost the pilgrim tourism in Jammu region which witnessed yearly influx of over One Crore pilgrims to Shree Mata Shri Vaishno Devi Ji, besides Shiv Khori, Shri Amar Nath Ji, Chandi Mata and other shrines situated in J&K. He hoped that other such like organizations will also come forward and contribute in the promotion of tourism in Jammu. He said that Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust is / was also helping the poor people for arranging marriage of their daughters, besides extending service to the ailing humanity by arranging free medical camp by inviting top surgeons / physicians with in the state and from outside the state and even distributing free medicines to the poor people on spot.
Speaking on the occasion Sh. G.H. Mir appreciated the role of Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust for its contribution in providing better facilities to the pilgrims at Haridwar and said that by doing this they have added a new role for NGO’s promoting tourism activities in the state of J&K.
Among others Jammu Muncipal Commissioner, Sh. Muberak Singh, Provincial President National Conference, Sh. Rattan Lal Gupta, Sh. Pawan Kumar Shastri, President, Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust Jammu / Haridwar and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
